Woodside (229 Trevacroft) is situated in the John Fowler St Ives Holiday Park at Lelant Downs near St Ives. This historic little fishing port, with its world famous Tate Gallery, twisting streets, golden light and blue sea, has become a magnet for artists and sightseers, but families and surfers will be unable to resist the attractions of the award-winning Porthmeor Beach, the secluded cove of Porthgwidden Beach and the long golden sands of Carbis Bay and Hayle Towans that sweep round St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse. Immediately to the west of St Ives the coast path leads over high cliffs and above small coves to provide some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in all England. Penzance, St Michael's Mount and the south coast are only 8 miles away, and Land's End, with numerous little coves and ancient tin mines to explore, is just 16 miles away on the other side of Penwith Moors.

Whatever your interests you will never be short of things to do or nearby places of interest to visit. From Penzance you may wish to take a day trip by helicopter or boat to the Isles of Scilly, or visit Newquay, the surfing capital of Britain. The amazing Eden Project and the Goonhilly Satellite Earth System are within easy reach, as are many local golf courses, theme and wildlife parks. If you wish to take a rest from the car, regular bus services from St Ives Holiday Village will take you to Penzance (30mins), St Ives (15mins) or the local station (4mins) for the little shuttle train that runs between St Ives, Carbis Bay and Penzance.

Should you decide to spend some time within the well-maintained wooded grounds of the holiday park you will find delightful woodland walks, and all the amenities you would expect of a five star site; a large indoor heated swimming pool with water slide, a putting green, a restaurant and bar that sells meals and take away food, a well stocked shop, and a games room with pool table and the latest video games. There is a “kids club” for children's activities, and in the evenings a licensed club with popular cabarets, discos, live music, game shows and competitions. The price watch system keeps prices for drinks and meals low, with children's meals half normal price. Almost all facilities are included in the price.

Close to Penzance lies the picturesque St Michael's Mount, and further afield you will find spectacular Land's End, and numerous little coves and ancient tin mines to explore. From Penzance you may wish to take a day trip by helicopter or boat to the Isles of Scilly, or visit Newquay, the surfing capital of Britain. The amazing Eden Project and the Goonhilly Satellite Earth System is within easy reach, as are many golf courses, theme parks and wildlife sanctuaries, and walkers will relish walks along gorgeous stretches of the coast path or over the more desolate moors of Penwith.
