ABOUT CORNWALL - Cornwall is famous for its sandy beaches, especially those round St Ives Bay that is also an excellent surfing area. Immediately to the west of St Ives the coast path leads over high cliffs and above small coves to provide some of the most spectacular scenery in all England. Penzance, St Michaels Mount and the South Coast are only 6 miles away, and Land's End, with numerous little coves and ancient tin mines to explore, is just 16 miles down the scenic coast road and on the other side of Penwith Moors (great walking country!). Whatever your interests you will never be short of things to do or nearby places of interest to visit. From Penzance you may wish to take a day trip by helicopter or boat to the Isles of Scilly or visit Newquay, the surfing capital of Britain, and the amazing Eden Project is within easy reach just 25 miles up the A30.

2. Bus link (4mins) with St Erth station and shuttle train (every 20mins) along coast to Carbis Bay & St Ives beaches
3. Park and Ride at Lelant Saltings station (3mins) for coastal shuttle train

Close to Penzance lies the picturesque St Michael's Mount, and further afield you will find spectacular Land's End, and numerous little coves and ancient tin mines to explore. From Penzance you may wish to take a day trip by helicopter or boat to the Isles of Scilly, or visit Newquay, the surfing capital of Britain. The amazing Eden Project and the Goonhilly Satellite Earth System is within easy reach, as are many golf courses, theme parks and wildlife sanctuaries, and walkers will relish walks along gorgeous stretches of the coast path or over the more desolate moors of Penwith.
THE LOCAL AREA -
For a great beach or surfing holiday enjoy the nearby stretches of golden sands that run from St Ives to Godrevy round St Ives Bay. The closest is the gorgeous Carbis Bay, quick and easy to reach by cycle, car (6mins) or public transport:
Buses run every hour from reception to St Ives (15mins) or Penzance (30mins). A Park and Ride at Lelant Saltings station (3mins) serves a shuttle train (every 30mins) along the coast to Carbis Bay and St Ives beaches. Buses also link with St Erth station (4mins) for shuttle train to St Ives and main line trains between Penzance and London (Paddington) calling at Rudruth, Truro, St Austell and Plymouth.
Old Mill Riding Stables, almost opposite the entrance to the holiday village, caters for all levels of experience and offers a healthy way of seeing the surrounding countryside. The historic fishing port of St Ives, with its world famous Tate Gallery, twisting streets, golden light and blue sea has always attracted artists and sightseers. It is also one of the finest places for eating out in Cornwall. Families and surfers will be unable to resist the attractions of its award-winning Porthmeor Beach, the secluded cove of Porthgwidden Beach and the long golden sands of Carbis Bay and Hayle Towans that sweep round St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse.
GOLF AND FISHING - The West Cornwall Golf Links, the oldest 18 hole golf course in Cornwall, is beautifully located beside the sea 2 miles down the road in Lelant. Old Mill Riding Stables, almost opposite the entrance to the holiday village, caters for all levels of experience and offers a healthy way of seeing the surrounding countryside. Coarse fishing is available in lakes behind Bill and Flo's Farm Shop, just after the turning to Carbis Bay less than 1 mile up the road and trout fishing, with a full range of facilities, can be had in 4.5 acres of clear spring water at Tree Meadow Trout Fishery in Fraddon, nr Hayle, approx 5 miles away.
THE HOLIDAY PARK - Woodside (229 Trevacroft) is situated in the John Fowler St Ives Holiday Park at Lelant Downs near St Ives. Should you decide to spend some time within the well-maintained wooded grounds of the holiday park you will find delightful woodland walks, and all the amenities you would expect of a five star site; a large indoor heated swimming pool with water slide, a putting green, a restaurant and bar that sells meals and take away food, a well stocked shop, and a games room with pool table and the latest video games. There is a “kids club” for children's activities, and in the evenings a licensed club with popular cabarets, discos, live music, game shows and competitions. The price watch system keeps prices for drinks and meals low, with children's meals half normal price. Almost all facilities are included in the price. ACCOMMODATION
WOODSIDE - Woodside is let from Saturday to Saturday and sleeps 4. Keys are made available from the holiday village reception from 4.00 pm to 10.30 pm on the first day of your holiday and the property is to be vacated by 10 am on the last day of your holiday. Shorter breaks are available outside holiday periods, subject to availability.
THE CHALET - Woodside is a well-presented, comfortable and well-equipped timber and granite chalet.
KITCHEN - The kitchen area offers an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/ice box, kettle and an ample supply of cutlery, crockery and pots and pans. The windows look out into woodland.
LOUNGE/DINER - The open plan lounge/diner has a comfortable cane three-piece suite, coffee table, 21” colour television and DVD player as well as pine dining table and chairs. A door leads to the patio area next to woodland in front of the bungalow.
DOUBLE BEDROOM - The double bedroom is tastefully decorated and has a double bed and wardrobe with shelves.
TWIN BEDROOM - The twin bedroom has two single beds and a wardrobe with shelves. There are full-length mirrors in both bedrooms. Bed linen for 4 is provided and included in the tariff, but please remember to bring towels..
BATHROOM - The tiled bathroom has just been enlarged and refurbished and includes bath, shower and heated towel rail.
UTILITIES - A hairdryer is also provided, together with iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner.
PATIO AREA - There is an outdoor table and chairs on the patio area should you decide to dine alfresco in front of your bungalow.
COT AND HIGH CHAIR - A cot and/or high chair may be ordered in advance at a small cost.
PARKING - A large parking area lies close to the bungalow.
NO SMOKING / NO PETS - There is a no smoking policy in the bungalow and we regret pets are not permitted.
